Bringing world-class design to a working-class pub

Creative chef/entrepreneur Judy Henry collaborated closely with The Anderson Group to help with the branding of her new restaurant, The Speckled Hen, in Reading, Pennsylvania.

Judy’s vision was to create an inviting pub and eatery with an English country menu and feel, all set in a historic, centuries-old log cabin. She asked The Anderson Group to help her bring that vision to life. We began by researching all kinds of British pubs, gathering inspiration from their whimsical names and painterly signs.

The result was The Speckled Hen Cottage Pub & Alehouse, a restaurant modeled after the country cottage pubs of the British Isles. Because the restaurant’s identity was critical to the concept and its success, The Anderson Group created an artful solution unlike anything in the marketplace.  The internationally award-winning logo design features an original painting of a speckled hen, commissioned by The Anderson Group, which now hangs in one of the cozy corners of this unique and successful dining spot.
